Day Camps

Artsy Fartsy Pets

Description: Kitty Warhol and Pup-o Picasso invite you to join HSTV and all of their pet friends to Artsy Fartsy Pets! During this workshop, students will have a blast with fun, furry art projects while learning animal handling skills, compassion, empathy for animals, and a whole lot more!

Reading to Ororo

Date: June 10th

Description: During this fun workshop, students will get to meet a very special guest: a big, fluffy rescue husky named Ororo! Students will be led in fun storytelling exercises and will learn how to read dog/cat body languages.

Required Materials: For this workshop, students will need to bring their favorite book from home to share with a furry friend.

Safety Dogs: Fight the Bite

Description: During this workshop, students will acquire a very important skill set: how to be safe around dogs. Using the “Be a Tree” method, students will learn to introduce themselves to new/unfamiliar dogs, how to read a dog’s body language, and how to properly respond to stressful situations around dogs. Students will also have the chance to put their skills to the test with the help of some friendly shelter mutts!

Creative Critters

Description: It’s time…to get creative! Join us for a wonderful day full of fun acting exercises while learning all about cat and kitten care. Students will work on a creative writing exercise, acquire basic theatre skills, and learn how to take care of man’s purr-fect best friend! William Shakes-purr is making biscuits in his grave!

Creative Critters

Description: It’s time…to whip up something fit for a King, or a Prince, or a Rover. Join HSTV as we create some delicious, no-bake concoctions for our canine friends! Students will learn the many benefits of a well-rounded, healthy diet for animals, which human foods are safe for our pups, and more. Students will make three different treats to take home or to share with our rescue mutts.

Description: Adopt. Spay. Keep. Three words that can make a world of a difference for our furry friends. For this day, students will explore ASK’s three components, gain an understanding of Adopt Don’t Shop, and more. This camp received four paws up from HSTV’s spokes-dog, Theo.

Junior Dog Trainers

Description:
Join the Humane Society as we embark on a weeklong camp focusing on the importance of stepping inside a dog’s shoes…paws…furr-flops?  During this camp, students will learn to read a dog’s body language, gain animal safety skills, basic training techniques, all about pet overpopulation/puppy mills and more!

Secret Life of Shelter Pets

Date: June 12-16th

Description:  Join Max, Duke and all of their friends as they embark on a weeklong adventure at the Humane Society! For this PAWsome camp, students will have the time of their lives as they learn about the importance of animal shelters, the no-kill movement, and what they can do to help lost pets.

Secret Life of Shelter Pets

Description: It’s time…to get your pet-degree! School might be out, but that isn’t an excuse not to learn. Join the HSTV as we lay out all the doggy and kitty do’s and don’ts in this fun-filled camp! During this week, students will learn about Animal Safety, Pet Overpopulation, how nature disasters (like the Smoky Mountain wildfires) impact man’s best friend, and more.
