Dear Friend of the Animals,
How we care for our animals is a measure of the quality of our
community.
Since 1885, the Humane Society of the Tennessee Valley (HSTV) has served our East Tennessee community by providing protection and care for homeless, unwanted, abandoned, and abused animals. The Humane Society has been the leader and single driving force shaping attitudes toward animals as companions, friends, and family members deserving of respect and protection.
Through hard times, times of criticism and controversy, times when others refused to do the difficult or unpopular, HSTV has never faltered from its commitment to animals or its leadeship role in the community. For example, HSTV pioneered low-cost spay/neuter at its Fix-A-Pet facility, and other agencies followed suit. HSTV’s commitment and leadership are two reasons the organization has existed for 122 years.
But the third and most important reason is the support of people like you. Simply put, we need your help to survive. With your help, HSTV will continue to support local shelters and provide animals for adoption. With your help, HSTV will provide spay/neuter assistance for low-income families. With your help, HSTV will continue education and public awareness. With your help, HSTV will continue to fight against animal cruelty and suffering. With your help, we can become a better community.
HSTV is a no-kill organization dedicated to the welfare of animals. HSTV does not receive money from any city, county, or state government or any national organization. HSTV operates solely through generous support from you, your neighbors, and others who know the responsibility and joy of pet ownership.
